William "Bill" T. Pernitzke

William “Bill” T. Pernitzke, age 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, after a brief illness, in Las Vegas, NV, where he resided for the past 30 years.

Bill was born in Merrill, WI on February 4, 1948.  He was a 1966 graduate of Merrill High School.

Bill had been employed by Citi Bank, Las Vegas, NV, where he worked as a supervisor in the data center prior to retirement.  Prior to that, he worked at Citi Bank in Milwaukee, WI, also in the data center.

In his spare time, Bill enjoyed golfing, hunting, playing cards and traveling.

Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents, as well as by his father, Melvin “Butch” Pernitzke and his mother, Glenys (Talbot) Pernitzke. Also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Nickolas Kalafice.

He is survived by his sister, Judith (Litkey) Kalafice, niece, Anne Weigand, with fiancé, Scott Tapp, nephew, John (Pamela) Kalafice, great-nephews, Ryan (Kelsey) Weigand and Garren (Alyssa) Weigand, great-nieces, Meghann (Matt) Polen and Jordan Pearson, great-great nephews, Hudson, Emery and Barrett Weigand and great-great niece, Leighton Weigand, as well as numerous cousins.

The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Merrill, WI.  Father Maria Vallabhaneni will officiate.  Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m., at Waid Funeral Home in Merrill, WI.  Interment at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery will immediately follow Mass.

Mass will be live streamed and available for viewing on the funeral home website, under his obituary, and will later be posted as a recording.
