Viola G. Schuster of Merrill, died Thursday, September 17, 2009, at Pine Crest Nursing Home on her 93
rd
birthday. She was born September 17, 1916, to William and Nellie (Evans) Gaedeke. She married Gilbert Schuster on September 28, 1935, in Merrill. They were blessed with one son, John.
Viola worked at Merrill Candy Company and later was a nurse’s aide at Holy Cross Hospital and Pine Crest Nursing Home. She was an avid homemaker and devoted mother. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, teaching Sunday School, visiting with family and friends, and taking motor coach tours with her son, John.
Viola is survived by a sister, Helen (Clifford) Gatterman of Plover; a brother, Charles (Elaine) Rahlf of Kingman, AZ; a step-sister, Irene Kadlac of Suring; a sister-in-law, Ruth Gaedeke of Wausau and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert; her son, John; a brother, Walter Gaedeke; a sister, Margaret Tanck and a step-brother, Wesley Rahlf.
