Timothy Kretlow

Timothy J. Kretlow Timothy J. Kretlow, age 52, of Merrill, passed away, surrounded by his family, Saturday, September 29, 2012, at his home, under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice. Tim had a brave and positive attitude throughout his battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Milwaukee, February 28, 1960, the son of Karel (Rasmussen) Kretlow and the late Arthur Kretlow. He married the former Linda Hartwig on July 26, 1990, in Merrill. She survives. Tim was a 1978 graduate of John Marshall High School in Milwaukee. After high school, Tim worked for Wisconsin Blue Cross and Blue Shield for 2 years. After his father died, Tim moved to Merrill and worked for Trantow's Do-it Center as a lumber and hardware salesman until his illness. Tim was a dog lover, an avid fisherman and loved to hunt. He was a big John Wayne fan and also enjoyed photography, especially nature scenes. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Merrill, son Tim of Menomonie, step-son, Mike Riesinger of Gleason, mother, Karel of Merrill, 2 brothers; Stephan (Patrice) of Brookfield and Jon (Lynn) of Waukegan, IL as well as 3 nieces and 1 nephew. Funeral services will be held 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the Waid Funeral Home. The Rev. Sue Christian will officiate. Friends may call from 4 until 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Tim's name. Online tributes may be given at www.waidfuneral.com
