Thomas DeLonay

Thomas George DeLonay, age 83, of Merrill, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton on December 9, 2020. He was born September 10, 1937 to the late Milton & Lucille (Lorbetski) De Lonay. Thomas married his best friend Connie Brandt on May 28, 1988 in Merrill.  She survives.

Thomas proudly served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959.  He was a ’56 graduate of DC Everest High School.  Tom earned a certificate of apprenticeship of millwright in ’84.  He enjoyed working until his retirement at Wausau Papers as a millwright.  Tom was known for his hunting skills.  He loved to play pool, go fishing, and was an avid hunter.  Tom belonged to St. Francis Catholic Church, Lions Club of Gleason, and was a former Boy Scout leader.  He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife: Connie, children; Robin (Katie) DeLonay, Jeffrey (Lori) DeLonay, Steven DeLonay, Brian (Cheryl) DeLonay, Aaron (Dalaina) DeLonay, Douglas (Danielle) DeLonay, Dan (Sara) DeLonay, Jennifer (Nathan) Korpela, siblings; Milton (Kathryn) DeLonay, Yvonne (Norman) Madden, Corrine Kraimer, Janis (Rick) Kramer, Laurie (Raymond) Dabler, 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many other relatives & friends.

A mass of Christian burial will be 11AM on Monday, December 14, 2020 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Fr. Mariadas Vallabhaneni will be officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 13, 2020 from 1PM to 4PM at Waid Funeral Home and again on Monday from 10AM to 10:45AM at Waid Funeral Home.  Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Wausau.  Military Honors will be performed by VFW Post #1638.
