Sally Gruetzmacher

Sally J. Gruetzmacher, age 61, died May 20, 2014 at her home. She was born October 28, 1952 in Merrill to Wilfred and Coletta (Musch) Schroeder. Sally graduated from Merrill Senior High School in 1970. On April 28, 1973, Sally married Gene A. Gruetzmacher at St. Stephen's UCC. Together, they took over managing the Gruetzmacher family farm. Sally enjoyed opening her home to all her relatives and her children's friends. Many happy memories were made around the kitchen table at the farm. She enjoyed being a 4-H leader, taking family road trips, camping and horseback riding. She was an active member of Underdown Horse Club and of Park City Baptist Church. Sally is survived by her husband: Gene Gruetzmacher, Pine River; seven children: Theodore (Tangerine) Gruetzmacher of Janesville, WI, Eric (Amy) Gruetzmacher of Waukesha, WI, Molly (Kurt) Stehr of Baldwin, WI, Betsy (Greg) Sommer of Merrill, WI, Barb Gruetzmacher of Merrill, WI, Andrew (Cristina Camacho) Gruetzmacher of Darlington, WI, Krista (Pete DeForrest) Gruetzmacher of Wausau, WI; 11 Grandchildren: Isaac, Levi, David, Wyatt, Carson, Abigail, Austin, Bailee, Elizabeth, Rose and Gage; her mother: Coletta Schroeder, Wausau; two brothers: Dennis (Sally) Schroeder of Antigo, and Mark (Amy) Schroeder of Brokaw; brother-in-law: Daniel (Sue) Gruetzmacher; two sisters-in-law: Eva Fick and Emily Turner; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Wilfred; several in-laws; and grandchildren who died before they were born. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Waid Funeral Home. Pastor Freddy McMillen will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Friday, May 23 and again from 9 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Town of Pine River.
