Rolf Listau

December 5, 1953 — March 14, 2010

Rolf Robert Listau, 56, Gleason, passed away unexpectedly March 14, 2010, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rhinelander.



Rolf was born in Germany on December 5, 1953, to Robert and Lydia (Mader) Listau. He married Jean (Lokemoen) August 5, 2003 in Tomahawk.



Rolf came to the United States when he was just 2 years old, growing up in Milwaukee . He attended John Marshall High School in Milwaukee . Rolf moved to Merrill in 1980. While living in Merrill, he worked for ITC as a truck driver and shop manager for 15 years. Rolf then worked in equipment sales for Kenworth Trucks. He was currently shop manager for Elite Carriers in Wausau . Rolf was a member of the Harrison Hills A.T.V. Club. He enjoyed riding his all terrain vehicle, gardening and landscaping. Rolf was very proud of his yard and home.



Survivors include his wife: Jean, Gleason; daughter, May Listau, Crandon; step-daughter: Leah (Jason) Smith, Neenah; mother; Lydia Listau, Green Bay; 4 grandchildren: Lokney, Hailey, Gaberiel and Lorenzo; brother: Al (Sue) Listau, Cooksville, TN; 2 sisters: Irma (Jim) Knopf, Green Bay, and Karen (Robert) Gonzalez, Green Bay; and 2 brothers-in-law: Gerald Lokemoen, Merrill, and Allan (Judi) Lokemoen, Irma; numerous family and friends.



He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Listau, and 3 brothers: Gary, Wally and Michael Listau.



Services will be held Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 4:00 PM at Bible Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Robert Smallman will officiate. Visitation will be from 12-4 PM on Saturday March 20, also at the church. Burial will be at Chat Cemetery . Waid Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
