Robert A. “Bob” Jackson, 94, passed away peacefully December 8, 2017, at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill WI.
Bob was born on December 5, 1923, in Fargo, South Dakota, to Claude and Helms (Olson) Jackson. His family moved to Wisconsin where he attended grade school and later graduated from Jordan High School, West Allis, in 1941.
Following graduation, Bob served four years in the United States Army as a medical technician with the 61st General Hospital Unit. Two of those four years were served in England, upon completion of military service, he was honorably discharged at Fort Sheridan, Illinois.
Bob attended technical school for tool and die training and worked as a precision tool and die maker at Cutler Hammer in Milwaukee for twenty years. On September 29, 1951, he married Joyce Stacy in Crystal Falls, Michigan.
In 1986, Bob and his family moved to Merrill. He worked at Merrill Manufacturing for twenty years and wire products for three years prior to retiring in 1991.
Bob was passionate about fishing, hunting, and camping with his brothers. He also enjoyed singing and music. Bob, a member of Hillside Fellowship church, was a quiet gentle, man who faithfully served his Savior throughout his life.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce: daughter, Roberta; sister, Gloria Lukens; brother, Paul (Joanne); and many nieces and nephews he dearly loved. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by sisters, Marcella and Sylvia; brothers, Alden, Claude and Lumen.
