Raymond J. (Spiker) Buck, age 79, of Merrill passed away July 7, 2021, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born on January 20, 1942, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, to the late John and Dorothy (Kronawetter) Buck. Ray married Faye Langlois on January 18, 1964, in Hawthorne, California, a union that would last over 57 years.
Ray graduated from high school in 1960 and went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force. Ray returned home and worked at Brokaw Paper Mill for 27 years.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Faye Buck, Merrill; five children, Angela (Mike) Grundman, Mosinee; Lisa (Ron) Uekert, Wausau; Ginine (Howard) Daniels, Texas; Carla Rhodes, Florida; and James (Debbie) Buck, Mosinee; twelve grandchildren, Jessica, Angela, Andy, Hailey, Jim, Joe, Amber, Bruce, Alexia, Tres, Carson, and Jenna; eight great-grandchildren, Payton, Johnny, Jade, Colton, Ben, Sequoia, Isiah, Mezmaria; two sisters, Mary (Robert) Timler, Hatley; and Joann Morris, Milwaukee; along with many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy; and three brothers, Eddie Buck, Bob Buck, and John Threw.
A Memorial Service for Ray will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Waid Funeral Home. Pastor Ryan Hawley will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment to follow in St. Francis Cemetery – Veteran’s Section. Military Honors will be performed by VFW Post #1638.
