Phyllis J. Meyer, age 78, of Merrill, unexpectedly went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Good Samaritan Health Center in Merrill. She was born March 9, 1943, in Merrill to the late Emery and Phyllis (Schuman) Morrison. On November 18, 1961, Phyllis and Herman Meyer were united in marriage at Trinity Lutheran Church, a union that would last nearly 60 years.
After the boys were raised, Phyllis went on to receive her Associates Degree from NTC in Computer Electronics. She worked at Greenheck as a computer programmer. Phyllis also set up computers at a dental office and Hargrave Appliance in town. She used her computer skills to design brochures for AHACK and various other government programs.
Phyllis was a wonderful cook and made delicious meals for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, attracting all the family her home would accommodate. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and spent as much time with her family as she could. Phyllis made birthday cakes for all her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed reading to her great grandchildren. She also read to the 1st graders at Trinity School, something she cherished always. Phyllis was a member of the Trinity Ladies Aid for many years and enjoyed serving and setting up meals. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting. Phyllis loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Branson, a cruise to Alaska, and a special Country Music Cruise from Galveston, Texas to a few local islands. Phyllis will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
