Peter Ellenbecker

Peter P. Ellenbecker, age 71, of Merrill, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the Marshfield Medical Center in Weston, formerly known as St. Clare’s Hospital, after a brave fight with cancer.  He was born on February 11, 1949 to the late Melvin W. and Dorothy A. (Dalsky) Ellenbecker in Marathon, WI.

Peter attended and graduated from St. Michael’s High School, Chicago, IL, and went on to further his education at NTC for an additional 4 years in the electrician course.

Peter worked as an electrician for his entire life and was a master electrician in Illinois.  In his younger years, he enjoyed softball, both watching it and playing.  Peter was always willing to lend a hand and help wherever he could.  He is remembered as always living life to the fullest, no matter what the circumstances should be.  Peter will be sadly missed, but always in the hearts of his loved ones.

Peter is survived by special friend Holly Bushar, sisters: Doris Ellenbecker, Kathleen (Bill – deceased) Daverman, Jeanne (Jesse-deceased) Humphrey, Judy (Bill) Bialecki and Carol (Steve) Willis, all of Merrill, brothers: Joseph Ellenbecker of Irma and Tony Ellenbecker of Merrill, sister-in-law: Carol Ellenbecker, granddaughter: Samantha (Bryan) Shah, good friend & work partner: Scott Boyd and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Nancy Ellenbecker, son: Matthew Ellenbecker and brothers: Melvin, Louis and Dennis Ellenbecker.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Peter will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 11am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Merrill.  Father Jim Horath will officiate.  A private visitation will be held at Waid Funeral Home prior to Mass.  Burial will take place at a later date in Chicago, IL.  A Celebration of Life for Peter will be held at a later date.
