Pearl Boyle

June 6, 1920 — September 6, 2009

Pearl M. Boyle, 89 of Merrill died Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Pine Crest Nursing Home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.  She was born on June 6, 1920 in Gleason to the late Alex and Bertha (Strobel) Jensen.  Pearl married Harold Boyle on March 19, 1938.  He died on August 4, 1965.



Pearl was a nurses aide at Pine Crest for 13 years and was the first "Employee of the Year" in 1983.  She also worked in various retail clothing stores.  Pearl enjoyed having campfires outdoors, making wool braided rugs, sewing and knitting mittens. She was very handy and found much enjoyment in painting and hanging wall paper. She also enjoyed music and dancing. Pearl was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Gleason.



She is survived by her daughter, Kelley (Tim) Heidemann of Merrill; her son, Dwayne (Lee) Boyle of Mesquite, Texas; 1 sister, Barbara (Francis) Montabon of Gleason; 6 grandchildren, Lisa, Greg, Becky, Justin, Heath and Heather; 10 great-grandchildren, Sam, Will, Jay, Cadie, Kailey, Alyssa, Cade, Allison, Aaron and Jack; a sister-in-law, Genevieve Jensen; and a daughter-in-law, Luanne Boyle.  Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; a son, Robert; a daughter, Kathleen Watson; a brother, Clifford Jensen; and a son-in-law, Richard Watson.



Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Gleason.  The Rev. Steven Anderson will officiate.  Friends may call from 1:00 PM until time of services on Thursday at the church.  Burial will be in Luther Memorial Cemetery in the Town of Russell.  Waid Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.  Memorial gifts may be given in Pearl’s memory to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice, Pine Crest Nursing Home or Luther Memorial Lutheran Church.  On-line condolences can be made at www.waidfuneral.com .
