Paul Styka

Paul Styka, 67, of Merrill, passed away May 28, 2009. He was born March 2, 1942 in Chicago, IL to the late Frank and Helen(Wielgus) Styka. Paul was a 1960 graduate of Mendel Catholic High School in Chicago. He then joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany until 1964. After being stationed in Germany, he married Marilyn Farrar back in Chicago. Paul worked for various Insurance Companies until joining Church Mutual Insurance Company in 1978 where he retired as a line director in 2002. He attended St. Francis Catholic Church. Paul enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting and was a Corvette lover.

Paul was preceeded in death by his parents, Frank and Helen(Wielgus) Styka. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, one sister: Eleanor Styka of South Holland, IL; one brother: Frank(Jan) Styka of Lemont, IL; his Sister in law: Barbara(John) Taylor of Merrill; two nephews: Joseph(Melinda) Trojanowski of Oak Park, IL, and John Taylor of Chicago, IL; three nieces: Carly Styka of Lemont, IL, Julie(Rob) Bucknell and Jamie Taylor all of Merrill; and by many loving aunts, great nieces and nephews.

Services will be Wednesday, June 3, at 11:00 at St. Francis Catholic Church. Rev. James Horath will officiate.  Visitation will be Tuesday, June 2, from 4-7 at and also from 10-11 on Wednesday at Waid Funeral Home. VFW Post 1638 will provide military honors.
