Patrick J. Grob

Patrick Joseph Grob, age 81, of Merrill, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the Tomah VA Medical Center. He was born in Merrill on July 2, 1943. He enlisted in the United States Army in June 1967, where he served as a combat engineer, and ultimately attained the rank of E8 Master Sergeant. Pat retired from the Army in October 1987. He then worked for the city of Copperas Cove, Texas for over 10 years.

Pat enjoyed puzzles and had a sweet tooth for ice cream and chocolate! He had a lifelong love of cars, watching stars, the Green Bay Packers and World Cup Soccer. Pat was an extremely gentle soul and always willing to listen.

Pat is survived by his son Alan (Lonie) Grob, grandchildren Jackie and Robert Grob, great granddaughter Eleonore “Ellie” Grob. He is also survived by his sister Mary Chvilicek, brother Peter (Jill) Grob, and brother-in-law Radisa Miljkovic. Pat also leaves behind many loving cousins, 3 nieces, 1 nephew, 4 grand-nieces, and 2 grand-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Jean (Cronin) Grob, wife Radmila “Millie”, son Robert Grob, and brother-in-law Dan Chvilicek.

The memorial service for Pat will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Visitation will begin at 12:30pm, with a service at 1:00pm, at Waid Funeral Home. Pastor Southcombe will officiate. Following the service, inurnment will take place at the Veteran’s Memorial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Merrill. Military honors will be conducted by the Merrill V.F.W. Post 1638.
