Patricia Kufahl

Patricia L. Kufahl, age 84, of Merrill, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Pine Crest Nursing Home under the care of Aspirus Comfort & Care Hospice Services. She was born September 16, 1930 in Wausau to the late Reinhart and Meta (Behr) Wussow. She and LeRoy "Pete" Kufahl were united in marriage at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wausau on April 24, 1948. Patricia attended high school in Wausau. She waited tables at the Wausau Club for over 20 years before she worked as a cook for 18 years at the Merrill School Forest. Patricia was an avid bowler who belonged to the 600 club. She enjoyed playing cribbage and could boast she had a 29 or "perfect hand". Patricia liked flowers, helping others and especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her husband of 66 years: LeRoy "Pete" Kufahl; four children: Peter (Lois) Kufahl, Ringle, Jamie Peterson, Portland, OR, Julie Garrison, Merrill, and Joreen (Bill) Whitson, Troutdale, OR; seven grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; seven great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Esther Clemens, Wausau; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Dawn Kurth and Gladys Heinrich. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Ascension Episcopal Church in Merrill. The Rev. Linda Schmidt will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the time of service also at the church. Private family inurnment will be held Monday.
