Oscar Huber

Oscar J. Huber, age 89, of Merrill, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill, while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.  Oscar was born on December 31, 1929 in Mobridge, SD.  He met Lorraine Joyce Lynn, and the two exchanged vows on April6, 1961 in Milwaukee, WI.  Sadly, she preceded him in death on November 14, 2003.

Oscar was a mover for Welch Mover’s in Milwaukee for 38 years.  When he was younger, he enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.  Oscar enjoyed tinkering with cars and trying to put them back together again.  He would look forward to watching his western movies.  Oscar was a loving and caring man that was always willing to help others.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy.  He will be sadly missed.

Oscar is survived by his son: Allen Huber, daughter: Roberta Irizarry, both of Merrill, 6 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren (with 1 on the way), 4 brothers and 4 sisters.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Lorraine, son: Michael Huber, 1 grandchild and a brother in infancy.

A private viewing will be held at Waid Funeral Home in Merrill.  Military honors will be performed by the Merrill VFW Post #1638.
