Nelson Knudsen

Nelson “Nels” Knudsen, 88, Merrill, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at Good Samaritan Health Center.

He was born November 11, 1921 in Goodman , WI , to the late Nels and Ellen ( Anderson ) Knudsen.

Nels was a graduate of Goodman High School . He had served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Nels worked as a comptroller for St. Regis Paper Company in Rhinelander. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church . Nels loved gardening.

Survivors include his son, Tom, Rhinelander, and special relatives, Roland and Frances Hetfeld, Merrill. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 daughters, Judy Shapiro and Lynn Knudsen.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family has requested donations be made to the American Heart Association or American Lung Association. The Waid Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com .
