Nathan Knospe

October 30, 1979 — March 13, 2017

Nate was 37 when he passed into eternal life: March 13, 2017 Nathan "Nate" Knospe was born on October 30, 1979, son of Richard Hans Knospe and Mary Jo (Rostal) Laabs. He was a 1998 graduate of Merrill High School, Merrill, WI. He co-hosted a talk show and hosted his own music variety program on WNRB-LP. He was CEO of Famous Ashtray Productions. Nate was passionate about spending time with his family and friends, gaming and weekly trivia contests. He was a good swimmer and usually was the first one in the pool in the spring. He could ID a movie clip in 10 seconds or less. He could trouble-shoot a computer problem, turn the fruit cellar into a wine cellar, find the most appropriate gifts for his friends and family, play Ingress for more than 400 days in a row and stop a conversation with his wit. His sense of humor was matchless. He had an unusually large college collection of "My Little Ponies" which accompanied him to every Packer game gathering of friends. The ponies needed to be present to assure a win! He loved Wednesday night "food club" get-togethers with Ben and Trina. He and his brother, Ben, were the co-creators of "Ba-corn." Nate was a connoisseur of condiments and always was adding a little extra spice to the salsa and pickle jars. "Here, try this," he would say. Nathan was a kind-hearted person who lived life to the fullest. He served as a patient caretaker for his Grandmother; was generous in helping family and friends in any project and was "there" in a moment's notice in bad times and good. Nathan was preceded in death by his brother, Michael; his grandparents: James and Eliza (Soolman) Knospe,

Gordon and Joan (Ament) Rostal; his stepfather, Myron Laabs and his cat, Zero. He had a kind heart for animals and fed sunflower seeds to Billy, the mourning dove, on the front porch. Nate had a special relationship with Copper, Ben and Trina's dog. In lieu of flowers, we ask for any memorials to be made to the Lincoln County Humane Society. Nathan will give the gift of life to many others in need, just as he has helped us all to see and experience this life in sometimes, most surprising ways. Survivors include: his mother, Mary Jo (Rostal) Laabs, Merrill, WI; his father, Richard, stepmother, Cindy (Ponto) Knospe, Chippewa Falls, WI; Nate's brothers: Christopher Knospe (Teiva Campbell),

Oostburg, WI and Benjamin (Trina Ravn) Knospe, Merrill, WI; stepsister, Kristin (Dan ) Wadzinski, Wausau, WI; stepbrother, Theodore Laabs, Seattle, WA; nephews: Daenen Knospe, Finnegan Knospe,
