Melisa L. Hanson, age 29, of Wausau, passed away unexpectedly at her home. She was born July 8, 1985 in Lebanon, OR to Miguel Skerlecz and Pamela Hanson. She was mother to three sons and one daughter. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Melisa was a stay at home mom and loved her children dearly. She was a great cook and was always in the kitchen for holidays and family gatherings. Melisa enjoyed doing crafts with her daughter and always made time for her children whether it was swimming or riding bikes, she enjoyed spending time with them. Melisa was a very selfless person who saw everyone equal. She was very outgoing and happy and was always there for her family and friends if needed. Melisa was also very strong minded and proud. She was very close to her family and had a special bond with her mother Pamela, and was a "mini Pam" to many. Melisa was affectionately nicknamed "Lifa" by her uncle Jim and was best friends with her late grandma, Patsy and her brother, Joshua. She loved music, and enjoyed watching movies and Big Brother. Melisa loved to see spring flowers and loved all colors of the rainbow. She loved fall colors and wore them all the time. Survivors include her three sons: Cittey Xiong, Journey Xiong, Theory Xiong; one daughter: Valli Xiong ;mother: Pamela Hanson; father: Miguel Skerlecz; step-father: Karl Lassila: four siblings: Joshua Hanson, Steve (Sandra) Simmons, Nicole Hanson and Charles Hanson: three nieces: Ivy Hanson, Lia Mae Hanson and Vanessa Hope Simmons; one aunt: Jane Loewen; and two uncles: Timothy Hanson and Jim Hanson. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother: Patsy Hanson; and paternal grandparents: Charles and Rosa Skerlecz. Private family services will be held.
