Marie Worzella

Marie C. Worzella was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, on December 29, 1921, daughter of Laura and Julius Falkavage. She died at Pine Crest Nursing Home on March 5, 2014. She married Chester Worzella in Norfolk, Virginia, on March 6, 1942. He died in 2001. Marie is survived by ten children: Barbara (Dan) Casper, Mary (Jack) Duffy, Anita (Dennis) Wessel, Gerald (Bonny) Worzella, Denise Hodgkins, Norma (Steve) Aronson, Chester Jr. (Jan) Worzella, Wayne (Pam) Worzella, Jane (Ken) Shidell and Mike (Bette) Worzella; 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, Marie was preceded in death by great-granddaughters Allison Worzella and Danika Aronson, brothers Raymond, Jack, Edward, Leo and Gregory and sisters Irene and Martha. Marie was a housewife and mother but worked part time, volunteered at her church and enjoyed needlework and (loudly) cheering on the Packers and Cubs. Mass of Christian burial and celebration of her life will be at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Merrill on Saturday, March 8, at noon. Visitation will be Saturday from 10-11:30 am at Waid Funeral Home in Merrill. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
