Marianne Klade

Marianne "Jen" Klade, 82, of Merrill, died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born June 4, 1929 in Duisberg, Germany to the late Jacob and Elisabeth (Schoppet) Wollseif. She married Eugene Klade in December 10, 1949 in Bad Mergentheim, Germany. He preceded her in death July 9, 2005. Marianne worked over the years at Rexall Drug and was the manager at Thelma's and The Guys Shop. She owned and operated the Kozy Korner Restaurant for many years, fulfilling her dream to be a business owner. Marianne hosted German Hour on WJMT Radio for a number of years. She enjoyed bowling, cross country skiing, walking, biking, watching T.V., flower gardening and cooking. Marianne was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the 600 Bowling Club and the Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include her four children: Mollie (Robert) Schwinn, Wausau, Elaine (David) Grisham, Charlotte, NC, Michael (Ginny) Klade, Merrill, and Jayson (Karla) Klade, Merrill; 12 grandchildren: Christopher (Deanna), Craig (Kelli), Julia (Mike), Jeanna, Lana (Wayne), Katie (Charles), Michael J, Robert (April), Erick, Kailyn, Emily, and Rachel; 23 great-grandchildren: Cole, Alex, Ian, Autumn, Aden, Tanner, Maggie, Kaylee, Elle, Grant, Ryan, Nathan, Marcus, Elaina, Hadden, Abbey, Wesley, Joseph, Jasper, Jaerick, Jaxton, Kamryn and Brennan and one great-great-grandson: Aden. She was preceded in death by her parents and two great grandsons, Noah and Jayden. Services will be held 7 pm Monday, April 16, 2012 at Waid Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday from 4 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. The Rev. Al Beversdorf will officiate. The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Pine Crest Nursing Home for their wonderful care. The family requests memorials be given to the Diabetes Association, the Lincoln County Humane Society or to Pine Crest Nursing Home. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
