Margaret Ann “Peg” King

Margaret Ann “Peg” King, age 79, of Merrill, passed away Wednesday August 26, 2009 at Good Samaritan Health Center. She was born February 28, 1930, in Merrill, the daughter of the late William and Helen (Michaelis) Loewecke. She married Gordon King on July 9, 1950 in Merrill. He survives.

Peg was a 1948 graduate of Merrill Senior High School . She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church , Merrill where she was active in the Altar Guild and other church organizations. Peg was the recipient of lifetime membership for her involvement in Girl Scouting. She attended many meetings of the 101 ^st Airborne with her husband, Gordon. Peg loved to crochet, needle point and knit. Her first demonstration of expertise was making an “Ike” jacket for her husband. She enjoyed aerobic swimming with her generation. Peg doted on her 2 Canadian and 1 Minnesotan grandchildren.

Peg is survived by her husband, Gordon of Merrill, 2 daughters; Ann Elizabeth (John) Sneyd of Collingwood, Ontario and Jennifer Susan (Michael) Rupprecht of Lewiston , MN. 1 sister: Ethel Scheffler of Merrill and 3 grandchildren; Adam and Lindsey Sneyd of Collingwood , Ontario and Johanna Rupprecht of Lewiston , MN . Peg was preceded in death by her parents,3 brothers; William, Robert and Richard Loewecke and 2 sisters; Edith Loewecke and Helen Mayotte.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Burial will take place at Snow Hill Cemetery in the town of Scott .
