Lydia A. Salefske, 84, Merrill, passed away peacefully April 1, 2009 under the care of wonderful caregivers at
Marywood
Convalescent
Center
and Aspirus Hospice Services.
She was born January 11, 1925 in the Town of
Corning
, daughter of the late Henry and Marie (
Constance
) Mohrland. She was married to her late husband, Norman Salefske on August 16, 1958. He died on December 10, 1983.
Lydia
worked at Lincoln Textile in Merrill and retired from Lincoln Wood Products in Merrill in 1990. She loved to crochet, sew, bake and garden.
Lydia
was a loving and caring person. Her apple cake on birthdays and cut out cookies and fruitcakes at Christmas will be missed.
Survivors include four sisters, Katherine (George) Krass of DePere, Helen Kline of
Mountain Home
,
Arkansas
, Emma Plautz of Merrill and Ruth Hintz of
Wausau
; a brother, George (Beatrice) Mohrland of Merrill; a sister-in-law, Joan Mohrland of
Janesville
; and many nieces and nephews and friends.
Lydia
was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman; three sisters, Mary Wiegel, Elsie Saeger, and Ida Mohrland; three brothers, Henry Mohrland, Jr., Herman Mohrland and Rudolph Mohrland; and a sibling in infancie.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Trinity Ev.
