Lois A. Dupke

Lois A. Dupke, age 91, of Merrill, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at her home while surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.  She was the only daughter of Ervin and Viroqua (Vockrodt) Dupke and was born on November 14, 1931 in Milwaukee, WI.  Lois met Roger Dupke, and the two were united in marriage on October 19, 1950 in Denver, CO.  Sadly, Roger preceded her in death.  They were blessed with 58 years together.

Lois was a homemaker, housewife and mother.  She enjoyed being able to be home with her children and to be active in their childhood.  Lois loved singing and was active in her church choir at First Presbyterian Church in Merrill.  She also served as a Sunday school teacher and was the president and treasurer of the Presbyterian Women’s Group.  Lois also volunteered her time with the church ladies aid.  She was a loving woman that had a strong faith in her Lord.  She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Lois is survived by her children: James Dupke, Timothy (Jayne) Dupke, Diane (Kevin) Singleton and Thomas Dupke, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and son-in-law: John Schmoeckel.  She was preceded in death by her parents: Ervin and Viroqua Dupke, husband: Roger Dupke and daughter: Christine Schmoeckel.

The memorial service for Lois will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 6pm at Waid Funeral Home in Merrill.  Pastor Jess Wakefield will officiate.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 4pm until the time of the service, also at the funeral home.  Inurnment at Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery will take place the following day.

In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations in Lois’ name be directed to the Ronald McDonald House Foundation.
