Leone J. Wiedenhoft Snow, age 94 took her final journey to be with our Lord on May 11, 2011. She was born in Harvard, Illinois on November 5, 1916. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Frieda and Ernest Wiedenhoft; three brothers, twins Raymond and Ralph, Ernest Wiedenhoft; two sisters Margaret McKinnell and Ethel Schnese; and husband Hank Snow. She is survived by one sister, Vi Woodford (Oneida Lake) Harshaw, Wisconsin and a sister-in-law, Til Wiedenhoft of Sebring, Florida and many nieces, nephews and other family members. Leone was a retired WWII veteran who dearly loved serving her country for over 22 years. After retiring from the military, she became a full-time RV-er. She spent 43 years on the road traveling in all the lower 48 states as well as Alaska, Canada and Mexico. For 25 years Leone wintered in her RV with the Wiedenhoft family in Lake Placid and Sebring, Florida and spent summers and falls in the Northwood's at Oneida Lake with the Woodford's in Wisconsin. She truly experienced the best of both worlds. At age 92 she sold her beloved RV and Volks and settled in Omaha, Texas with her good friends Beth and Lenora who became her care givers as her health declined. She loved her family and friends which included the special dogs in her life--Abbie and Molly. Leone loved the outdoors; was an avid bird-watcher and loved all animals. She had great stories to tell about her years of military service and travel experiences. She wrote several articles that were published in some of her RV magazines or local newspapers. The journals she kept through the years contain a wealth of information.
