Leonard Hofmann

Leonard R. Hofmann, age 96, passed away on February 14, 2015 at Bell Tower Residence in Merrill. Leonard was born on March 30, 1918. His parents were Fred and Hazel (Cooper) Hofmann from Merrill, WI. He attended school in Merrill. Leonard married Pearl Alft on June 10, 1944 at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Merrill. She preceded him in death on December 28, 2009. Leonard was a crane operator and worked for Merrill Gravel for most of his adult life until retirement. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed nature. He will be sadly missed. Leonard is survived by his son: Joe (Debra) Hofmann of Merrill, granddaughter: Miranda (Brian Kopp) Hofmann of Madison, one brother: Kenneth and four sisters: Vearl, Gail, Violet and Phyllis. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Pearl Hofmann and one brother: Norman. A Funeral Liturgy for Leonard will be held on February 18, 2015 at 12PM at the Waid Funeral Home Chapel. Father Jim Horath will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10AM, also at the funeral home, and continue until the time of the service. Burial will take place at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Merrill. Waid Funeral Home of Merrill is assisting the family with arrangements.
