Leo Mucha

Leo “Tom” Mucha, age 70, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2021 at Pine Crest Nursing Home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice. He was born May 29, 1950 in Wausau to the late Leo J. and Diane (Dvorak) Mucha. On September 16, 1972, he married the love of his life, LuAnn Felzkowski, in Rothschild, WI. She survives.

Tom grew up in the Wausau area, graduating from high school in 1968. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1967 and served our country until 1971. Tom worked as a maintenance mechanic at Rite Screen in Wausau, retiring in 2014. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, playing cards, bowling and boating. Tom loved taking pictures of everything, especially flowers and nature. He has hundreds of pictures of his and LuAnn’s travel adventures, where they visited all but 3 of the 50 states. Tom was a skilled woodworker and made several wonderful pieces for his family to enjoy. He was also good with a hammer and liked the challenge of a remodeling project here and there. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years; LuAnn Mucha, of Merrill; nine siblings: Sue Matiasovsky, Bollingbrook, IL, Mike (Anna) Mucha, Wausau, Jim (Lois) Mucha, Rothschild, Kim (Nolan) Welsh, Cindy Robbins and Jeanine Rodman, all of Wausau, Sherie Mucha, WI Rapids, Sandy (Curtis) Knudsen, Wausau, and Paul (Renee) Mucha, Marathon; numerous nieces and nephews, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo & Dianne Mucha, brothers-in-law, Bob Matiasovsky and Tim Robbins, and a nephew, Beau Mucha.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held at Noon on Monday, March 29, 2021 at Waid Funeral Home. Fr. Maria Vallabhaneni will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of service, also at the funeral home. Waid Funeral & Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
