Kevin Sandas

On Tuesday, February 16, 2016, a sweet and gentle soul met the Lord. Kevin Gerard Sandas, age 58, passed away after a short battle with brain cancer. Kevin was born to Edwin and Blanche (Ristvedt) Sandas on May 25, 1957 in Merrill, WI. He attended and graduated from Merrill High School. Kevin went on to further his education, earning an associate's degree in auto mechanics. He married Mary Nutter in June 1980, a union lasting 25 years and that brought 2 awesome children into this world, Shad, 34 and Rachel, 32. In 2007, Kevin married Roxanne Hetfeld. She survives. Kevin was an avid tennis player and ping-ponger. He loved all types of music. He was very talented in regards to music. Kevin enjoyed playing the piano and guitar, along with writing songs. Kevin was employed at GT Independent as a home health aid, but had worked at many different jobs including auto mechanic, mink rancher, retail sales and home health care. Kevin had a wicked wit and if you sparred with him, he always had the last word. He loved cats and took in many strays over the years. Kevin will be sadly missed, but his memory and our love for him will always live on. The days are long and the years are short, so love your family and appreciate them. Kevin is survived by his mother: Blanche Sandas, wife: Roxanne Sandas with her children: Jasmine and Nayda Hetfeld, son: Shad Sandas, daughter: Rachel (Chris Wheeler) Sandas, sisters: Mary Beth (Alan) Appel and Susan Sandas, brother: Eddie (Susan) Sandas, grandchildren: Dominic and Ariel and many nieces, nephews, cousins, life-long friends and new friends. He was proceeded in death by his father: Edwin Sandas. A memorial service for Kevin will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at 11AM at Waid Funeral Home. Pastor Greg Laska will officiate. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at 9:30AM and continue until the time of the service, also at the funeral home.
