Kathryn Zimmerman

Kathryn J. Zimmerman, age 76, of Merrill, passed away Thursday, December 5 at Pine Crest Nursing Home under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice. She was born July 26, 1937 in Merrill to the late Phillip and Cecelia (Willett) Bushar. On September 25, 1954, Kathryn and Edgar A. Zimmerman were united in marriage, a union lasting over 40 years. He preceded her in death January 6, 1996. Kathryn was a home maker who also ran an in-home daycare for many years. She enjoyed children and loved spending time with them. Kathryn loved crafting, crocheting and sewing. She enjoyed cardinals and liked spending time tending to her garden. She also liked working word searches. Kathryn especially enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Merrill. Survivors include her three children: Terri (Terry) Sukow, Dale Zimmerman and Judy (Greg) Heath, all of Merrill; five grandchildren: Amy (Todd), Sara (Josh), Allen (Jessie), Ryan and Douglas; two great grandchildren: Mikala and Emma; two brothers: Phillip Bushar, Merrill, and David "Pete" (Karen) Bushar, Merrill; three sisters: Betty Jane Kleinfeldt, Merrill, Audrey Haring, Tomahawk, and Phyllis (Raymond) Gilson, Merrill; and a sister –in-law: Alice (Norm) Ziemke. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edgar, daughter, JoLynn, three sisters, Evangeline Monti, Rosella Bushar and Louise Haring, three brothers, Arnold Bushar, Freeman Bushar and Louis Bushar, five half-brothers, Joseph, Thomas, Edward, Vernice and Otis Bushar, and one half-sister, Marion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM Friday, December 13 at Waid Funeral Home Chapel. Fr. Mike McLain will perform the funeral liturgy. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Thursday, December 12, 2013 and again from 10-11:30 AM Friday before the service all at Waid Funeral Home. Burial will follow Mass in St. Francis Cemetery.
