Kathleen Thompson

August 18, 1921 — April 17, 2009

Kathleen Annabel Thompson, 87, of Tomahawk, died Friday, April 17, at Golden Living Center-Riverview in Tomahawk. Kathleen was born August 18, 1921 in Merrill, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John and Elizabeth (Ridley) MacDonald.





Kathleen worked at the Old County Home as a practical nurse. She married Theodore Thompson June 16, 1944 together they farmed and raised the family, later she became a nurses aide. She enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers, crocheting many afghans, and spending time with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made the best apple bars and french toast.





Kathleen had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church , and attended lunches once a month with her high school friends.





Survivors include, 6 children: Judy (Jay) Couillard of Monett , Missouri , Roger (Peggy) Thompson, Tomahawk, Dorothy (Rodney) Grawien, Merrill, Tom (Julie) Thompson, Tomahawk,



Jean (Dennis) Tessmer, Panama City , Florida , Donna Hermsen ( Dan O’Brien) Madison; 20 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren;



brother in law and good friend, Fidelias Hahn; many sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces and nephews.





She was preceded in death by her son, Donnie, husband Theodore, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.





Visitation will be Monday, April 20 at Waid Funeral Home from 3-7 pm. Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 20, at 7pm at the Waid Funeral Home in Merrill. Pastor Chad Weinkauf will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Irma.
