June G. Semling age 87, of Merrill, died Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Bell Tower Residence, under the care of Ministry Health Hospice, surrounded by her family.
June was born June 7, 1922 in Merrill, the daughter of the late Bert and Blanche (Chartier) Germain. June married Donald Semling February 17, 1941 in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death October 30, 1987.
June was a homemaker, she enjoyed knitting, golfing, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, scrabble, traveling and cooking. June especially enjoyed family gatherings.
June was an active member at St. Francis Church, where she took part in Bible Study, the Altar Society, and the church choir. She was also involved in St. Jude’s Circle, a hospital auxiliary volunteer, and a Girl Scout Leader.

Dave (Peggy) of Bloomington, MN
Sara (Tom) Semling of Sister Bay, WI
Matt (Sarah) and
Connie Semling both of Merrill
10 grandchildren: Antoinette, Seth, Jodi, Justin, Chad, Jared, Shawn, Brandon, Jacob, and Adam.
8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, son, Dan and 2 sisters, Constance Eide, and Shirley Anderson.
Funeral Mass will be 11 am Thursday July 30, at St. Francis Catholic Church, The Rev. Fr. James Horath will officiate, with burial to follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 29 from 4-8 pm at Waid Funeral Home and again Thursday from 10 am until the hour of service at the Church. Prayer service will be held 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
