Joyce Henrichs

Joyce K. Henrichs, 74, of Eagle River, formally of Merrill, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 at her home. She was born March 4, 1936 in Merrill to the late Herman & Julia (Lokemoen) Pophal. On April 12, 1957, Joyce married Gerald "Chet" Henrichs in Merrill. Joyce was a graduate of Merrill Senior High School. She worked many years for Bell telephone as a switch board operator and for 14 years as secretary for Our Saviour's Lutheran Church before retiring from Tri-Hi Transportation as a bookkeeper. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, quilting, cooking, video games and Nascar. Survivors include her husband: Gerald "Chet" Henrichs, of Merrill & Eagle River; daughter: Jo (James) Brannan, Merrill; granddaughter: Julia (Tim) Busterud, Merrill; grandson: Bobby Brannan; great-grandson: Brodee Busterud; mother-in-law: Alice Henrichs, Merrill; brother: Wally (Bev) Pophal, Merrill; sister-in-law: Linda Henrichs, Merrill; brothers-in-law: Grover (Florence) Henrichs, Merrill, and Don Rohde, Merrill. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister-in-law: Stan & Pheen Pophal; brother-in-law: Wayne "Squint" Henrichs; sister-in-law: Donna Rohde; and father-in-law: Grover Henrichs. Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday February 17, 2011 at Waid Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Smallman will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
