Jerry M. Stevens, 76, of Merrill, died on August 5, 2010 at Ministry Good Samaritan Health Care Center, Merrill.
Jerry was born on January 25, 1934 to the late Patrick H. Stevens and Delia (Behrens) Stevens at
Jerry was the owner of Geri-Vans and Aqua Craft Inc. in Merrill. He had been a detective with the
Jerry enjoyed golf, skiing, and in his earlier years, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed doing things with his family and friends. Jerry was a great story teller and his sense of humor was contagious. He was a deacon in the Living Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, and two sons: Brian (Sheryl Hancock) Stevens of Cedar Hill, TX and Jeff (Linda Strelow) Stevens of Merrill, WI. Also, his 6 grandchildren; Jacob, Kelsey, Connor,
He is also survived by 3 brothers; Mike (friend Sandy), Thomas and Harry (Shirley); 5 sisters: Joan (Lenny) Bessa, Lois (Gene) Arnold, Ruth (Sam) Bahl, Iris (Ted) Lundt and Fayne (Larry) Diegel and sister-in-law, Janet Stevens. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, his son, Jerry A. Stevens, and brothers Patrick H. Stevens Jr. and Dennis A. Stevens.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Waid Funeral Home. Friends may call from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Minister, Sheldon Monson of the Living Church of God will conduct the service. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post #1638. Following the service, the family will receive friends until 4:00 PM.
