Jeffrey Annis

Jeffrey F. Annis, age 63, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born September 23, 1949 in Merrill to the late Robert & Dena (Suwyn) Annis. On August 27, 1994, he and Linda Prentice were united in marriage in Merrill. She survives. Jeff was a 1967 graduate of Merrill Senior High School. He had worked at Acme Tree and Davey Tree Service. Jeff was most recently a soil sampler for Geiss Soil & Sample where he enjoyed working with the whole Geiss group.-they were like family to him. He served six years in the Army National Guard from 1969-1975. Jeff enjoyed music and had played in several bands over the years including Marshmallow Tugboat, Easy Street, Poor Boys and Silverado. He was a left handed bass player and, being very talented, was able to play it backwards and upside down. Jeff loved spending time with his grandkids – and his best canine buddy Jake, aka "Doogie". He enjoyed karaoke with his family and watching football and NASCAR. Jeff also liked hunting, fishing, camping and traveling with his wife Linda. Survivors include his wife: Linda, Merrill; step-daughters: Jessica (Tracey) Sawczuk; Cristy (Rich) Seefeldt and Amy Pehlke, all of Merrill; seven grandchildren: Devon, Derek and Jenna Sawczuk, Tori Clayton, Sommer and Lucas Seefeldt & Vinnie Keenan; sister: Cindy (Steve) Latzig, Merrill; three nieces: Brenda (Robert) Strozewski, McKinney, TX, Sarah (Johnny) Tomajcik and Stephanie (Toby) Goetz, Kellner; two nephews that were special to him: Robert (Beth) Latzig, Plover, and Darrin Prentice; and five great nieces and nephews: Corban, Trinity, Dena, Quinten and Ava. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Jesse Annis. A Memorial service will be held Monday, June 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Friends may visit from 12:00 noon until the time of service at the church. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
