Jason Michael Kleinschmidt, age 47 of Merrill, passed away on Monday April 25, 2022, after a courageous 5-year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his wife Tanya, his Children, Amber, Michael and Matthew and a house full of family.
Jason was born September 24, 1974, to Gene and Judy (Baguhn) in Merrill, WI. When Jason was done with high school, he started working with the family business, G & J Concrete Construction and Excavating. He met the love of his life Tanya (Schmitz) Kleinschmidt, they were married June 10, 1995, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Corning. They built a home together and raised 3 wonderful children together.
Jason loved being with his Wife, Children and Grandchildren, and all family and friends. His love for them was so great. He loved to travel with Tanya, he even bought a motorhome to travel in. Jason loved deer hunting, trout fishing, fires in the backyard with friends and family or camping. Maple syrup season was one of his favorite times of the year, he loved driving the tractor and bottling the syrup. Snowmobiling was a favorite during the winter, with trips out west, Snowmobile Hillclimbs, and trail riding.
Jason Is survived by his Wife: Tanya (Schmitz) Kleinschmidt, Mother: Judy Kleinschmidt, Children: Amber (Bryce) Dombroski, Michael (Amber Connell) Kleinschmidt, Matthew (Stephanie) Kleinschmidt. Grandchildren: Madison and Owen Dombroski, Isabelle and Oaklynn Kleinschmidt, Brothers: Greg Kleinschmidt, Brandon (Beckie) Kleinschmidt, Sister: Sarah (Jeremy) Mohr, Father-in-law: Gary Schmitz, Sister-In Laws: Tammy (Adam) Haugen and Theresa (Mike Harder) Blake, Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles and many good Friends. Jason was preceded in death by his Dad: Gene Kleinschmidt, Mother-In-Law: Barbara Schmitz and Granddaughter: Elizabeth Dombroski.
The funeral service for Jason will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 11am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Corning. Pastor Joel Danner will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 2, 2022, from 3pm until 8pm at Waid Funeral Home in Merrill, and again on Tuesday from 9am until the time of the service, at the church. Cremation will take place following the service.
The service will be recorded and can be found under his obituary on the funeral home website. It will be available for viewing after May 4, 2022.
The family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation to all the Dr’s and Nurses that have taken care of Jason the last 5 years. A very special Thank you to the nurses at Froedtert CFAC floor 7 and John with Compassus Hospice, he was the most passionate, nurse we could have asked for. Thank you, Pastor Danner, for your trip to Milwaukee to visit us and for all the time you have spent with us during the last week. Jason really loved listening to your services.
