Janeen Scafide

Janeen Scafide, age 70, of Shawsville, VA passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at her residence.  She was born October 9, 1948 to the late Edmond and Noreen (Newitt) Brohman.  Janeen married John LaMonica.  He preceded her in death.  She married John Scafide.  He survives.

Janeen worked for Fox Point as a seamstress for many years.  She also owned & operated Gesundheit Bar in Merrill.  When Janeen retired she moved to Virginia.  Janeen loved spending time with family and playing cribbage.

Survivors include her husband John Scafide, Virgina, children; John (Nicole) LaMonica, Cindy Mann, both of Merrill, step children; Michael Scafide, WI, Sarah Scafide, NC, John Scafide JR, Steve, and Dawn Scafide, all of Maryland, grandchildren; Brianna (Ryan) Marsceau, Chelsey LaMonica, sisters; Ginger Brohman, Kim Brohmann, Karen (Jim) Wolf, brother; Marc Brohman, nephew; Adam (Brooke) Wolf, niece; Bridget Smith many other relatives & friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband John LaMonica.

Funeral will be 11 AM on Friday, May 24, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church.  Rev. Matthew Bless will be officiating.  Visitation will be on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Waid Funeral home and again on Friday at church from 10 AM until the time of service.  Waid Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Merrill is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com .
