James 'Jim' Schwartzman

James Elroy Schwartzman, age 83, of Merrill, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Ascension Good Samaritan Hospital in Merrill.  He was born on July 13, 1935 to the late Ray and Sophie (Johnson) Schwartzman in Milwaukee, WI.  He attended and graduated from Merrill High School.  After high school, James enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served his country.  He married Kathleen Ann Haas on November 14, 1964 in Merrill.

James worked at Wausau Paper for most of his adult life as a lift truck driver in the receiving department until retirement.  He enjoyed golfing, deer hunting, as well as playing baseball and slow-pitch for the Blatz Bombers.

James is survived by his wife Kathy Schwartzman of Merrill, daughter Dana (Gary Hegewald) Schwartzman of Plover, brothers: Don (Gayle) Schwartzman of Merrill and Harry Schwartzman of Arizona and sister: Joan Beyer of Merrill.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Robert, Tom and Wally Schwartzman and sister: Marlene Woellner.

Entombment for James will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wausau.
