Jacqueline Pierce

January 2, 1926 — July 4, 2012

Jacqueline H. Pierce Jacqueline Pierce, age 86, of Tomahawk, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at St. Clare's Hospital in Weston. She was born January 2, 1926, in Merrill, the daughter of the late Jake and Helen (Shanahan) Ament. She was married to Al Kramer who died in 1962 and later to William Pierce who passed away in 1998. Jackie was a 1944 graduate of Merrill Senior High School. She played professional baseball for the Kenosha Comets which was featured in the movie "A League of Their Own". Jackie also played fast pitch softball for the Merrill Cardinals and an all women's team in Fresno, CA. She moved to California in the early 1950's and became a cattle rancher with her late husband Al and later with her late husband William. After Bill passed away she retired and moved back to Wisconsin in 2000 where she lived with her brother Ron and Shirley Ament. While she lived in California, she was a member of the Merced Cowgirls who performed on horseback in several of the Rose Bowl parades. She loved horses and all animals and enjoyed playing softball. In her later years she enjoyed watching tennis on T.V. Jackie is survived by 2 step-daughters; Diane (Richard) Michard of Atwater, CA and Kathy Pierce of Catheys Valley, CA. 2 brothers; Robert (Florence) Ament of Phoenix, AZ and Ronald (Shirley) Ament of Tomahawk. 1 sister, Roxie (Dave) Johnson of Merrill and several nieces and nephews.

A vigil prayer service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the Waid Funeral Home. The Rev. Fr. Mike McLain will officiate. Friends may call from 9AM to 10 AM Wednesday at the Waid Funeral Home.
