Gordon Krause

Gordon P. Krause, age 78, of Merrill, passed away, Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Merrill. Gordon was born December 24, 1934 in Merrill the son of the late Harry and Leona (Maluege) Krause. Gordon and Virginia ( Borchardt ) were united in marriage December 12, 1953 in Merrill a union that lasted 59 years. Gordon had been a truck driver hauling cars for G.M. for 30 years until his retirement. Gordon enjoyed logging, hunting, fishing, pontoon boat rides, and watching his children and grandchildren playing sports. He was also a member of St. Stephens United Church of Christ. Survivors: include his wife: Virginia; Merrill, Children: Angela Steinke; Janesville, Geoff (Karen); Wausau, Mark; Janesville, Grandchildren: Erik (Beth) Steinke, Matthew Steinke, Scott Steinke, Nicholas (Laura) Krause, Zachary (Amanda) Krause, and Sarah Krause. 6 great grandchildren and one on the way. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters. If desired memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephens United Church of Christ. A private graveside service will be held at a later date, honoring Gordon's wishes. The Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
