Gilbert Schneider

Gilbert "Gib" C. Schneider age 81, of Merrill died Sunday, October 6, 2013, at St. Clare's Hospital in Weston. Gilbert was born August 14, 1932 in the Town of Scott, to the late Christian and Erna (Sense) Schneider. Gilbert had spent most of his life dairy farming, he also worked at Semco for some time and with the Green Thumbers at the Council Grounds. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, flowers, gardening, cooking and canning. Gib was very social, he loved to visit at the local farmers market. Survivors include: 2 sisters: Phyllis Bauman, Merrill, Lorraine Swift, Kenosha; nephews and nieces: Dave (Nancy) Bauman, Little Canada, MN, Sara (John) Nordling, Fort Wayne, IN, Ruth Bauman, Milwaukee, Mary (Thomas) Schmitt, Omaha, NE, Paul (Katrina) Swift, Kirkland, WA, and Allen (Linda) Swift, Kenosha. Gib was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Margaret Schneider, 2 brothers Warren and David, and 2 brothers-in-law: Lyle Bauman and Philip Swift. Funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church. The visitation will be held Wednesday 4PM-7PM at Waid Funeral Home, and again Thursday morning from 10 AM until the time of service at the church. The Rev. Nathan Kramer and Bob Schneider will be Officiating, burial will follow at Merrill Memorial Park. If desired donations may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or School.
