Georgie Baumann

Georgie Baumann, age 83, died Saturday, October 26, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. She was born September 4, 1930 in Lackawanna, New York to the late William and Lillian (Wiepert) Moritz. On September 3, 1948 she and Ardell Baumann were united in marriage. He preceded her in death in February of 2007. Georgie was a 1948 graduate of Merrill Senior High School. After her marriage, she became a home maker, later working many years at the Oconomowoc Cannery. Georgie loved reading, gardening and going to the casino. She was a volunteer at the Library delivering to shut-ins which she enjoyed very much. Georgie enjoyed having company and visiting – especially when it was her grandchildren. She liked her jigsaw puzzles and enjoyed taking car rides out in the country to various places. Georgie was a life member of the DAV Auxiliary. Survivors include her four children: Laurel Cooper, Amy (James) Kressel, Carrie Baumann and Ted (Tammy) Baumann; eight grandchildren: Robert (Tanya Otto) Bell, Jason Kressel, Adam Kressel, Nathan Baumann, Alex Baumann, Josh Cortright and Jessica Cortright; great-grandchildren: Kayden Cortright, Anthony Cortright and Blake Cortright; three sisters: Rose, Mabel and Frieda; brother: Harold; sisters-in-law: Mary and Phyllis; many nieces and nephews and her baby-the cat Goofy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ardell, four brothers-in-law, Lylas, Raymond, Bud and Wimp. A private family service will be held at a later date.
