Frances J. Murphy, 87, of Parrish, died June 27, 2011 at Friendly Village Nursing Home in Rhinelander. She was born October 30, 1923 in Des Moines, IA to the late Andrew and Mary (Donoval) Bosko. She married John O. Murphy on February 9, 1946 in Melrose Park, Il. She moved to Parrish in April of 1980. In 1941 Frances graduated from Proviso East High School. After graduation she worked as an operator for the phone company and then a secretary for an insurance company. Frances later worked as a cashier at Goldblats Department Store. Upon her husband's retirement, they had moved to Parrish where 10 years later Frances and John together built and operated the Parrish CafAC. where she also cooked. Frances was a huge Packers and Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed spending time with her family. Frances is survived by 2 sons, Matthew (Betty) of Poynette, and Patrick of Tomahawk; 1 daughter, Mary (Bob) Conway Bates of Lake Zurich, IL; and one granddaughter, Melissa (Rusty) Conway-Lugo of Salt Lake City, UT, and one great-grandson, Jack Lugo. She was preceded in death by her husband John, two brothers, Joseph and Andrew Bosko and two sisters, Olga Clark and Millie Crockett. Respecting her wishes, there will be no services following her cremation. Private family services will be held at a later date.
