Fidelis Hahn

Fidelis Hahn, age 98, of Merrill, passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at Bell Tower Residence. He was born April 1, 1918 in Merrill to the late Richard and Mathilda (Ament) Hahn. On May 12, 1941 Fidelis and Marion McDonald were united in marriage, a union lasting nearly 64 years. She preceded him in death on April 21, 2005. Fidelis attended school in Merrill. He was a grater operator for the Lincoln County Highway Department, a job he truly enjoyed. In his spare time, Fidelis enjoyed hunting, finding bargains at flea markets, gardening and farming. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church for many years. Survivors include his three sons: Duane Hahn, Milwaukee, John (Patti) Hahn, Merrill, and Patrick (Joni) Hahn, Merrill; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and two brothers: Jerome (Beulah) Hahn, Warba, , MN: and Richard (Violet) Hahn, Amery, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marion Hahn, two sons, Dennis Hahn and Larry Hahn, and one sister, Eleanor Bauman. Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Waid Funeral Home. Father Chris will preside. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of the liturgy, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
