Emma E. Mahn, 92, Merrill, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Pine Crest Nursing Home. She was born July 25, 1917 to the late William and Agnes (Schmidtke) Hulke in Merrill. On March 2, 1940 Emma married August E. Mahn in Merrill. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2006.
Emma worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory for 32 years. She enjoyed polka dancing while her husband played in the band, traveling and gardening. Emma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and also of their Ladies Aid.
Survivors include her daughter: Shirley (Michael) Ziert; son: Bill (Donna) Mahn, all of Merrill; 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, 6 brothers and sisters: Harlan (Faye) Hulke, Roger (Betty) Hulke, Irene Pick, Elaine (Leroy) Dahm, David (Shirley) Hulke, Laura Murphy, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband August, and sisters Alice and Vernette.
Services will be Friday, May 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Waid Funeral Home. The Rev. Brian Stolarczyk will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 – 11 AM also at the funeral home. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at
