Earl J. Forster, 80, of Tomahawk, passed away Tuesday, August 25. Earl was born on May 29, 1929 to the late Albert and Minnie (Schulte) Forster in New Wood, Wisconsin. In 1951, he joined the United States Army, serving in the Korean War until his discharge in 1953. He married Betty Chilsen in Merrill on July 24, 1954. She survives. Earl was a farmer and a logger all his life. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending his time making firewood, unable to stay away from the outdoors he loved. Earl also loved to spend time with his grandchildren. They were all very special to him. Among other things, he especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include sons; Jim (Claudette) Forster of Gleason, Ray Forster of Marathon, daughters; Bonnie (Howie) Yesney of Bergland, MI, Lori (Al) Hunter of Mosinee, and grandchildren, Elizabeth Forster, Ronald Forster, Jessie Yesney, Derek Forster, Hanna Hunter, Lacey Hunter and Casey Yesney, five brothers; Gilbert, Donald, Myron, Walter and Alvin, and 3 sisters; Iona Fleischman, Delores Heiser and Helen Leavitt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Emil, two sisters Evelyn Frazier and Martha Winkelman.
