Dorothy Malm, of Merrill, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018, in Weston, WI, surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Arthur and Florence (Ferraro) Levernier in Highland Park, IL. Dorothy attended and graduated from Highland Park High School in Illinois. She met Chris Malm while attending Marquette University, and the two exchanged wedding vows in Hubbard Woods, IL on April 2, 1977.
Dorothy was a registered nurse for her entire adult life, working at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill from 1981-2009, and Wausau Manor from 2010-2016. A loving and supportive person, Dorothy would always go the extra mile for anyone in need. She volunteered at the humane society and helped with the gardening at the gazebo in Merrill. In her free time, Dorothy enjoyed photography, traveling, gardening, spending time with friends, visiting her children and grandchildren, and had a passion for American history. Dorothy was a caregiver, in every sense of the word. Her fiery sense of humor was always evident in her storytelling and she made friends quickly with her infectious personality. Dorothy was an adoring grandma who enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren every chance she would get. Dorothy was a member at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Merrill.
Dorothy is survived by her sons: Andrew (Angie) Malm of Raleigh, NC and Adam Malm (Melanie Dubnicka) of Oshkosh, WI, daughter: Kathryn Malm (James Lewis) of Los Angeles, CA, former husband: Chris Malm of Merrill, grandchildren: Taylor and Madison Malm and Connor Malm, brother: Dr. James “Jim” Levernier of Little Rock, AK, cousins: Bob (Sue) Rogan and Kathy (Micheal) Golden, close friends: Glen and Lori Simonis and Elma and Gary Gruetzmacher, her beloved canine companions, Abby and Bella and many other good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Arthur and Florence Levernier and her son: Christopher J. Malm.
Per Dorothy’s request, no services will be held. Memorials may be given in Dorothy’s name to the Lincoln County Humane Society.
