Donald L Oglesby

Donald “Don” Oglesby, age 81, of Merrill, Wisconsin passed away on May 24, 2023 at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill, Wisconsin. He was born on August 11, 1941 to the late William and Dorothy (Russell) Oglesby in Illinois.

Don grew up in Waukegan, Illinois. After coming to Christ, Dan as a young man moved to California. After some education in nursing, he switched to education and worked with special needs children. This led to a life long love and interest in helping young teen boys to know Christ. Eventually he returned to Waukegan and worked for Honeywell. He loved Native American Culture and collected eagle paraphernalia of all kinds and was a skilled artist.

Don is survived by his niece and nephew: Billy William Oglesby and Kimberly Oglesby Morgan and other nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 11:00 am at Waid Funeral Home. Pastor Andy Perry will officiate. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of service also at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bible Presbyterian Church in Merrill in memory of Donald Oglesby.
