Delores Scheu

Delores Scheu, 91, of Merrill, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Pine Crest Nursing Home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice. Delores was born in Hamburg, WI on March 1, 1923 to the late Arnold and Herta (Plisch) Voigt. She married Leslie Scheu on November 14, 1942 in Hamburg. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2007. Delores worked for many years at the shoe factory but, her focus was always on her family, loving them and supporting them. She enjoyed crocheting rugs, mittens, and slippers. Later in life she made crazy quilts and Christmas ornaments for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include children: Judith Chartier, Merrill, Sandra (Donald) Roloff, Wausau, Donna (Daryl) Berndt, Rothschild, JoAnn (Steven) Carlson, Ellsworth, daughter-in-law, Donna Scheu, Greendale; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; twin sister, Doris Staus, sisters; Marion Heahlke, Lorraine (LeRoy) Rusch, brother; Carl (Joyce) Voigt, sisters; Mae (Vernon) Mathwich, and Lola (Howard) Schmidt, also many in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Russell, brothers, Earl Voigt, Donald Voigt Edward Voigt, and her sister Lois Achterberg. Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. Brian Stolarczyk will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 until the time of service on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the staff at Pinecrest for their love and care and to the pastors of Trinity Lutheran Church for their comfort and support.
