Charles Gauerke

Charles "Charlie" Gauerke, age 68, died on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Ministry St. Clare's Hospital in Weston. Charlie was born on August 8, 1948 to the late Raymond and Mary (Wabshaw) Gauerke. He attended and graduated from Saukville High School and continued his education by attending North Central Technical College for 2 years majoring in Police Science. In his younger years, Charlie had owned his own powder coating business called Thermal Dynamics, Inc. He really enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and loved the scenery. Charlie enjoyed guns, playing a round of golf or two and fishing when the weather was nice. He was very good with computers and knowledgeable with fixing them when needed. Charlie will be remembered as a fiercely independent man, but with a generous and giving side. He was a kind soul that was loving and caring to his family and friends. Charlie was a member of the Masons. He will be sadly missed. Charlie is survived by his children: Matthew "Chewy", Aaron, Crystal, Jodi and Ricky, his life-long partner and best friend: Marge "Maggie" Bong, very special granddaughter: Abby "Aber-Goose", grandchildren: Saxon, Porchia, Jackson and Amanda (Billy), great grandchildren: Amelia and Aliyah and lots of good friends. He is preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Mary (Wabshaw) Gauerke, sister: Mary Lou Gauerke and brother: Gary Gauerke. A Memorial Service for Charlie will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 5:30pm at Waid Funeral Home. Rev. Missy Holdorf will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 4:30pm until the time of the service, also at the funeral home. Waid Funeral Home of Merrill is assisting the family with arrangements.
