Carol Mae Wilson, age 67 of Merrill, passed away Wed., March 30, 2011, at her home. She was born May 30, 1943 in Wausau, WI, the daughter of the late Carl and Marion (Jeager) Leiskau. She married Mike Wilson on September 28, 1972 in Rothschild. He survives.
Carol was a school bus driver for the D.C. Everest district, did supportive home care and had worked for the former Double Cola Bottling Company. She was employed at East Bay in the telephone sales dept. Carol had been a singer in a folk band and a country band. She also had been involved with several church choirs over the years. Carol enjoyed crocheting, watching the Packers, the Wisconsin Badgers, the Milwaukee Brewers and weekend sports events. She also loved to spend summers at Boy Scout Camp where she was the first mom allowed to stay in the campsites.
Carol is survived by her husband, Mike of Merrill, 2 sons; Scott (Jenell Brown) Wilson and Joe Wilson of Sycamore, IL. A grandson, David Hartsell, a sister, Jeanne (Bill) Myers of Iola, a brother, Bob (Patti) Leiskau of Waupaca and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. Memorial Service will be 2pm Saturday
April 9, at Calvary Lutheran Church in the Town of Pine River. The Rev. Susan E. Christian will officiate. Friends may call from 12 pm to 2pm, Saturday at the church.
