Benjamin "Ben" Geiger, age 23, died on August 7, 2015 at the Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, WI after a courageous battle with cancer. Ben was born on December 18, 1991 in Merrill, WI and was the son to his adoptive parents, Anthony "Tony" and the late Roxanne (Swanson) Geiger of Merrill, WI.
Ben attended and graduated from the Merrill High School. He most recently worked at Scaffidi Motors in Stevens Point, WI. Ben loved all aspects of cars and trucks. He was "Mr. Fix-It" for almost any vehicle. He found it rewarding to work on his vehicles, fixing them or getting them running again. Ben also took pleasure in everything to do with electronics. When he wasn't working on a vehicle, he would enjoy being out on the water fishing or camping in the wilderness. Ben was a member of the NRA. Above all, Ben cherished his family. They were all very important to him and he was a great dad to his son, Hank. Ben is survived by his fiancé; Briana Corkhill of Merrill, son; Hank Allen Geiger of Merrill, adoptive father; Anthony "Tony" Geiger of Merrill, biological mother; Allison Wix of Merrill, sister; Mary Wix of Merrill, brother; Nick Kudick of Merrill, grandfather; Al Wix of Merrill, grandmother; Elsie Newman of Merrill, grandparents; Gordon and Patricia Geiger of Merrill and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his adoptive mother; Roxanne Geiger and cousin; Nathan Cournaya. A private family gathering for Ben will be held at a later date.
